Across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland (LLR) everyone can make a contribution to prevent suicide.

This year the LLR Suicide Audit and Prevention Group, Start a Conversation – Suicide is Preventable and partners are supporting World Suicide Prevention Day (10th September) by providing a week of FREE, online suicide related sessions.

We invite you to be a part of our programme and show your support for this vital topic. One in every 100 deaths worldwide is the result of suicide, so we believe suicide prevention is everyone’s business.

The theme for this year’s global event is ‘creating hope through action’. The schedule of sessions aims to highlight the range of services and support available across LLR as a result of the action that many organisations are taking, providing hope in times where darkness can be all consuming.

See the packed week’s (6th-10th Sept) schedule attached, which includes a range of FREE training sessions, information sessions, a focus group and wellbeing sessions. (For bookings & more information visit: www.startaconversation.co.uk/events )

Also show your support by joining us on social media – see the planned schedule attached for suggestions on how you can get involved.

Whether you are a professional working in the area, a professional interested in the area, a member of the public who wants to learn more, or you are simply worried about someone, you will be able to find a session to suit within our programme or a social media post to share your support.

Each of us can play a vital role in preventing suicide, so make sure you join us during this important week to raise knowledge and awareness and reduce stigma.

Thank you.
