Information sent on behalf of Leicestershire Police

Hello, Citizen

PCSO Will Berridge 6656 here! Providing you with the latest instalment of the Melton Town North Beat, Monthly Newsletter and Priority update email. Please find the newsletter for the whole of the Melton Borough at the bottom of this email by clicking on the blue link to the Leicestershire Police website. However, as usual we like to give the residents on the Melton Town North Beat a bit more of a personalised insight into your area.

An update on our priorities:

Anti-Social Behaviour continues to be one of our main focal points around the Melton Town North. We can completely appreciate how much Anti-Social Behaviour effects lives. The beat team are conducting regular patrols around our hotspot locations that have been highlighted by previous incidents, face to face interactions and brought up on Neighbourhood Link.
We have had a slight increase of ASB in the last month, the majority of which is motorbikes/pit bikes riding around the streets. We are well aware of the continuous problem of nuisance motorbikes around the Melton area. Officers have issued a Section 59 notice to one of these bikes leaving it viable for seizure if their behaviour isn’t corrected.
The beat team conducted a Patch Walk around the Fairmead Estate this month alongside Platform Housing for residents and members of the public to raise their concerns of any issues they may have living in the area. This was a very beneficial visit and it was delightful to meet everyone that came and had a chat.
We fully appreciate the negative impact that ASB happens and how it can affect people mentally and physically, so please do not hesitate to report ASB to Police online via , or by calling the Police on 101, (always 999 in an emergency).

Drug Dealing and Drug Taking remains a pertinent issue that we focus our attention on, therefore continues to be another one of our local priorities.
Marked vehicle and foot patrols have been conducted along our designated hotspots as a form of deterrent.
Officers conducted 2 warrants over the previous month, resulting in 2 unnamed individuals being arrested for possession with intent to supply of Class A drugs, this was an excellent result and the issue at hand continues to be monitored.
We are always grateful for your help and involvement on bringing offenders to justice, therefore we are urging anyone to report any information known about the supply of drugs to us by calling 101, or via our Facebook or Twitter accounts. You can also report information to us completely anonymously via Crime Stoppers online, or over the phone, their website is and their phone number is 0800 555 111.

Road Safety is another pressing issue and local priority on the Melton Town North Beat. Speed calming measures in the form of parking up in a Police car have also been conducted along Nottingham Road coming into Melton. Officers found this a very effective way in managing the speed of vehicles coming into the town and also act as a deterrent for further speeding into and out of Melton.
Officers are in the process of conducting a speeding operation in the coming weeks. This will result in officers using the SL700 speed gun and further officers pulling cars over and issuing tickets.
If you have any other suggestions or concerns regarding any of our local priorities feel free to get in touch with us by reporting your issue on 101 or online, speaking to officers whilst walking around the beat or through our direct messages on our Facebook page.

Melton Town North Beat Meetings
