Alert message sent 17/11/2020 11:39:00

Information sent on behalf of Leicestershire Police

Hello and hope you are keeping well.

Neighbourhood Link is a community information service to keep you up to date with local crime from you local officers. The nature of the messages is to inform you of crime in the area. As we have a large number of Burbage residents using this system, I thought it would also be great to share good news around what happens in our village.

It would be fantastic if anyone has any good news around community events, achievements or positive news that you would like to share with other residents. This could include individual achievements. There are many residence who use this platform that don’t use social media so it would be great to share your good news within the village. If you can REPLY to me with what you would like posted, I will look at putting it out with our local updates. A bit of good news would be great for residents.

Here are a couple of photos from around the village of some lovely decorations. Think they have gone up a bit early to help cheer people up a bit. It is certainly a pleasure to patrol around the village and see these.

An update for Burbage

We have continued to work with local schools around bullying. Online bullying is continuing to cause concerns amongst all age groups. We are working with schools to identify and speak to those involved in physical incidents in the village. Please share this link if you are on any local Neighbourhood Watch groups. You said, we did

Complaints around parking on Sketchley road.

I visited Sketchley Road at school finish time and spoke with residents and challenged inconsiderate parking. As you will understand, we are not able to be at all school locations twice per day Monday to Friday. Parking tickets are in the hands of the council so you can find out more regarding your concerns in this link.

We also work with local Schools to try and resolve issues. Initiatives include “walk to school” “Camera car” and “Billy and Belinda Bollards” Schools can also Email parents around concerns raised.

I am sure you will appreciate parking around schools is an issue that everyone needs to work together to resolve. You can also raise any concerns you have at the traffic issues working party meeting held by Parish Councillors.

Continued high visibility targeted patrols in the area, stop checks completed.

As we approach Christmas, if you are considering purchasing someone an Electric Scooter it may be worth having a read of the link before doing so to ensure you stay legal.

Thank you and take care.
