Plum Crescent, possible attempt vehicle theft on the morning of Friday 6th November between 06:15-07:45. If you live in the area of Cardinal Drive and you have any CCTV, please get in touch if you have any information that my help. The incident may have involved some kind of flatbed vehicle or vehicle with a trailer. Crime number 20*586785

Salisbury Road. Vehicle theft via residential break. High value vehicle and jewellery taken during a break on Tuesday 10th November sometime between 08:50-19:00. Please get in touch if you have any information that may help. Crime number 20*595662. Investigation ongoing.

Please remember that the majority of incidents are vehicle related so please consider steering locks, driveway bollards and using your garage if you have one. Entrance to properties to retrieve keys is usually by the back of properties (conservatory doors or kitchen windows) so please consider window alarms and ensure you set your house alarm.

Properties are usually targeted if it looks like no one is in. Try to make your property look like it is occupied even during the day. Light timers, TV lights, radio, neighbours parking on your drive etc all help.

Feedback is always welcome from residents regarding Neighbourhood Link. We receive lots of great feedback around the messages we send out but everyone has different needs around what type of messages and how many they receive. If you wish to reduce or increase the amount of Emails you receive from us, you can change this to suit your own needs by simply doing the following. Click on the RED box at the bottom of this Email that states “settings”, 1 ENTER your name, 2 TICK or UNTICK the box’s from “get safe online” “Neighbourhood watch” “Office of the Police and Crime commissioner” “The Police” and “Action Fraud”.  I know many of you signed up to receive local news so to ensure you receive the local updates please ensure “The Police” is kept ticked. Scroll to the bottom and click on “Submit”. You will then receive an Email asking you to confirm your changes.

You said, we did

We have completed some crime prevention work in areas previously targeted for crime. This includes crime prevention leaflets, speaking with residents and supporting individual residents with crime prevention products/advice where requested.

We have also been completing targeted patrols around the village. Stop checks also completed whilst patrolling. Patrols include marked vehicle and bicycle patrols throughout the day and night. We patrol local businesses, residential areas and parks to challenge criminal behaviour and support local residents. When residents raise concerns around specific areas and times, we will put these locations on our patrol plan.

If you see anything suspicious please ensure you call 101 or 999 immediately to report. Vehicle registration plates, types/colour of vehicle are really useful to us if you are able to obtain them.

As part of our multi agency approach. I have spoken to a Community Recovery Worker from Leicestershire County Council. She is new to the area and is looking forward to getting involved locally. I hope that when we are all back in a position to continue with community groups, that she will be able to offer support and knowledge to help people get back on their feet. When the times comes, if you have any ideas around community initiatives to help local residents, please get in touch.

I have attached the Community Safety Partnership Winter Newsletter. It mentions subjects such as Resident support, youth work, domestic abuse, scams and home safety. It is a really good read so please take a look
