Information sent on behalf of Leicestershire Police

Hello,

Just a quick update to accompany the Burbage Police Monthly Newsletter (please see attached).

Please continue to review home security over the next few months. As the darker nights draw in, increases in crime typically happens around this time of the year. As stated previously, we have seen an increase in Vehicle related crime. This tends to target high value and high performance vehicles.
Crime prevention does reduce crime. This has been shown in areas of Burbage over the last few years where CCTV, driveway bollards, steering locks and local neighbourhood watch groups are in place.

We have lots of advice and security ideas and products available so get in touch through “REPLY” if you would like any help. If your friends, family or Neighbours who have a high value vehicle on their drive, see what they are doing to protect their property.

We are completing targeted patrols and there are ongoing investigations into recent crimes.

Please report suspicious behaviour immediately via 101 (non-emergency) or 999 (emergency). Descriptions, vehicle registrations and directions of travel really help us.

I have received a concern today around some leaflet drops around the Azalea Drive area from Harborough Energy. I have found the link below on the HBBC website which may be worth looking at if you have any concerns.

Please do remember to follow the basic rules regarding sales. Never agree to anything on the door step, never hand over any money and always seek advice from friends or family when committing to a financial commitment.

Check out the below link from Age UK which gives some fantastic advice.

Goodbye to Our Sergeant 730 Andy Cox. He has retired after 30 years of service to Leicestershire Police. We wish him well and a long and happy retirement.

We welcome our cover replacement, Sergeant Shaun Wilson to the beat. Also joining him is PC Tom Sharpe who replaces PC Edwards.

Thank you and take care.
