Local Police Priorities for Oadby

Alert message sent 28/10/2020 15:41:00

Information sent on behalf of Leicestershire Police

Dear Members,

We have had some members who have completed a recent survey about local issues in our area. Your feedback has helped us identify particular areas of focus on this beat. The priorities that were raised are:

In order to address the ASB in our area, we are conducting HI-Visibility patrols. The calls we received has helped us to pin point the areas were this occurs. We are aware that there has been gathering of young people in vehicles in areas of the ASDA car park and surrounding streets. We are aiming to increase patrols especially during the Halloween and Bonfire events. Please could we urge Parents and Carers to advise their young people about the Celebrate Safely and to also follow the government Covid guidelines.

- Drugs

Good news that we recently seized a large number of drugs at an address in the area of Hill Field Park Oadby. Your local beat teams will be conducting patrols in the future and urge members to continue to call us with intelligence of addresses and vehicle registrations.

- Burglary

As we are approaching the darker nights this has always been a concern for our members. I can confirm there has been a reduction in Burglary from previous years as we are constantly working hard to reduce this. We still urge our members to continue being vigilant and ensuring that your security is working and up to date.

- Road Safety

Some members have mentioned the issue with speeding vehicles around Manor Road and surrounding areas. Recently our local volunteers conducted speed checks and also provided a few members with 30MPH stickers that can be stuck onto wheelie bins. We are in the process of conducting further checks in the area of Oadby and will update you with further information.

If you have any further feedback, questions or concerns could I please ask that you reply to this message and answer the following questions in reply which is listed below:

1. What is good about the local area where you live? (in around five key words)
2. What are the issues affecting you in your community which you would like the Police to be aware of?
3. Are there any other issues affecting you or your community which would benefit from working with or reporting to partner agencies such as the Council?

Please remember you can report crime online at www.leics.police.uk or call 101. Please dial 999 in an emergency.

Thank you again for your support.

Your Oadby Beat officers,

PCSO 6167 Ali Haq, PCSO 6518 Nad Ikram,
PC 1460 Andy Collins, PC2939 Rich Smith and SGT Steve Power
