Alert message sent 16/10/2020 20:22:00

Information sent on behalf of Leicestershire Police

Please be aware of a few recent Burglary incidents in Burbage. Between 20:30 – 21:45 on Wednesday 14th October we suffered 2 attempt residential burglaries and 1 burglary.

These incidents were reported around the locations of Lutterworth Road, The Meadway and Hillrise.
We then had a further attempt Burglary near the Rugby Road area on Thursday 15th October at around 17:30.

Three of the four incidents may have been vehicle related whilst the other appeared to target Jewellery.

Officers are currently investigating these incidents and we are supporting the victims where needed. Please ensure you speak with an officer if you have any information that may help.

I have seen the reports online of the property found recently which may relate to these incidents so thank you very much. Hopefully these items will soon be re-united with their owner.

We have had a great previous 7 months regarding residential burglary but please continue to be vigilant.

You can click on the below links for some great security advice but please remember to close/lock windows, use car key wallets, set house alarms, don’t leave valuables lying about or in easy to find locations, limit cash you keep, consider driveway bollards, steering locks or blocking your vehicle in.

Always try to make your property look occupied. Criminals appear to be targeting properties that are in darkness or look unoccupied. Security such as Light timers, TV switched on, curtains/blinds in appropriate positions, can a neighbour park on your drive?

We are continuing to investigate these crimes, completing targeted patrols, speaking with local residents and continuing to raise awareness around this type of crime.

Please ensure you call 101 (non-emergency) or 999 (emergency) if you see anything suspicious or a crime that is happening.
