Alert message sent 12/10/2020 16:02:00

Information sent on behalf of Leicestershire Police

This week in Burbage

Crime figures continue to be generally good. Figures for Theft of vehicles and Burglary in Burbage remain positive.

Reports of note this week include 3 reports of damage to vehicles on Sketchley road overnight on 10th/11th October. The damage is reported as damage to wing mirrors. This appears to be an isolated incident on the top end of Sketchley road (by the junction of Twycross Road). If you have any CCTV or information please get in touch. The timeframe is between Saturday 10th 22:00 – Sunday 11th 07:30. There have not been any other reports of this type of incident.

There has been one report of theft of VRM plates from Britannia road. The incident is believed to have happened overnight on the 9th/10th October. Please consider parking your vehicle in a well lit area if possible and try to park your vehicle so the VRM plate is not easily accessible. I have a limited supply of VRM anti-theft screws if you would like any, get in touch.

You said, we did

Following several breaks to vans last week (over one night), we have received no further reports. The investigations are ongoing and we have completed lots of target hardening in Burbage to raise awareness around this type of crime. We are completing targeted patrols and speaking with residents. If you have any information that may help, please get in touch. We also continue to work with local business to reduce vehicle crime in Burbage. It is important to continue to be mindful around this type of crime especially throughout the darker nights. https://www.leics.police.uk/theftfromvans

I have also continued with door knocks to residents where we have spotted issues like keys in doors, garage doors left unattended, hand bags in cars and car windows left open. Whilst we are out patrolling, we are looking for criminal activity, suspicious behaviour and opportunities for criminals. PLEASE continue to REPORT any suspicoius behaviour to 101 or 999 (Emergency) Please give us as much information as possible such as registration plates, descriptions and direction of travel.
