Scam Alert

As more people work from home, more people may see, and be the victims of Cybercrime.
There are lots of different scams around which tend to repeat after a while.

Scams will often look legitimate so always check before you pay anything. Speak to a family member or friend if you are unsure. If it doesn't feel right, it probably isn't.

I have been notified by a resident of a “phishing” Email they have received from apparently HM Courts and Tribunals Service. I have added a screenshot as below (I have altered some of the picture to avoid anyone calling it). These Emails attempt to get you to pay a charge. Often residents will not even own a vehicle so it is obviously a scam.

You can visit the below link for more information, https://www.trafficpenaltytribunal.gov.uk/potential-phishing-email-scam-using-hmcts-logo/

You can also REPORT scams to https://www.actionfraud.police.uk/ and find out more about ongoing scams.

Remember you can check if your Email address has been compromised by entering your Email address at https://haveibeenpwned.com/
