Theft from vehicles Burbage

Information sent on behalf of Leicestershire Police

This week in Burbage

Hello and hope you are all well. Here is a quick summary of what's going on in the village this week. Thanks for taking the time to read and take care.

Theft from motor vehicles include two reports from Sapcote Road and Coventry road on the night of the 26th September. It does not appear that any damage was caused on entrance to the vehicles. These appear to be opportunistic thefts. PLEASE remember not to leave any items in your vehicle. Even a pair of sunglasses or an old coat can attract criminals. Items stolen from vehicles typically includes laptops, sunglasses, wallets/purses and coats/bags. Please continue to report any suspicious activity you see in your area. Please also be reminded not to leave tools on vans unattended. Always check your vehicle is locked.

We are currently working with our local schools to offer support around internet safety and bullying. Due to Covid-19 restrictions our normal engagements within schools has been disrupted but we are finding ways to ensure the relevant information is given to schools to support with any issues that may arise. Please see for internet safety support.

We have been working with partner agencies to challenge Anti-social behaviour. This includes home visits, speaking to local residents to see if there are any wider concerns and helping to resolve tensions where issues have arisen. We ask that all residents consider their own behaviour and appreciate we all have different lifestyles and needs. Understanding, communication and consideration for others is often the solution to these types of issues. We have many fantastic communities in Burbage so let’s keep it that way.

You said, we did

Complaints of speeding

This week I have been out with a Police volunteer checking speeds at locations raised as concerns by residents. We visited Featherston Road, Coventry Road, Boyslade Road, Far Lash and Lutterworth Road. We tried to visit these locations at the specified times of complaints. You can report speeding in your area to  or find out more about community speed watch at The aim of our activity is to raise awareness and make the roads a safer place for our residents of all ages.

Vehicle crime

We have continued to support local residents with crime prevention advice around theft of and from motor vehicles. Security such as car key wallets and steering locks can be key to crime prevention. I have spoken to many residents around theft from vehicle as we have been patrolling the area.

Crime Prevention and other useful information

Please take a look at Brake road safety week. . We will hopefully be completing some activities around the village so any support you can offer on an individual basis would be fantastic.
