Information sent on behalf of Leicestershire Police

A 36-year-old man has been arrested today (Monday 28 September) after officers executed a warrant under Section 8 of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act (PACE) at a property in Leicester.
The warrant was executed at a property in Lyme Road and about 150 cannabis plants (pictured) were found.
The man was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug (class B) and remains in police custody.

Sergeant Pete Colgate from East Leicester Neighbourhood Policing Area (NPA), said:  “This was a good result off the back of concerns raised by the local community.
“A number of plants have been recovered that were heading for the streets of Leicester.
“We will continue to carry out operations of this nature and encourage anyone who has any suspicions about drugs misuse in their area to contact the police.”
Anyone with any information about crime or drugs misuse is urged to contact 101 or report their concerns online at www.leics.police.uk
