South Leicester Police - Assault Appeal

Dear Neighbourhood Link member,

Officers investigating an incident in which a teenage boy was assaulted are appealing for anyone with information to come forward. It happened in Aylestone Meadows between 6.15pm and 6.30pm on Wednesday 12 August 2020.

The victim, aged 14, became involved in an argument with a man, who then grabbed and punched him. The incident was reported to police by another member of the public who witnessed the incident.

The man is described as being around 30 years old, six feet tall and of a muscular build. He has brown hair and was wearing a white t-shirt and white shorts. He was with a woman also aged around 30 with blonde hair. She was wearing a green vest top and black shorts. They were both walking a grey/brown Staffordshire Bull Terrier.

PC Matt Sword, the investigating officer, said: “I’d like to speak to anyone who was in the park at the time and saw what happened. Please cast your mind back – were you in Aylestone Meadows that evening? Did you see anything unusual or anyone matching these descriptions? Any information you have could help my investigation.”
