Heads up for van owners

Even though this is not currently affecting your area. Thought this would be worth sharing with you in case this type of crime spreads into your area.

There have been around 8 theft from work vans over the last few nights in the Market Bosworth area.

Entrance to the vans has been gained by damage to locks or cutting the side from the van.

PLEASE report any suspicious activity you see overnight to 101 (non-emergency)  or 999 (emergency).

Please ensure you remove tools from your vehicle, try to leave your vehicle parked against a wall or fence to make it difficult to enter, park under a well-lit area or an area covered by CCTV. Also consider an alarm for the vehicle.

Consider property marking your tools with a UV pen or CRE MARK. You can also register your items for free at https://www.immobilise.com/
