Burbage Weekly Update

Alert message sent 19/06/2020 14:20:00

Information sent on behalf of Leicestershire Police

On Tuesday 16th June, we visited an address in Burbage to execute a drugs warrant. Thanks to our local priority team for supporting in this action. Following a search of the address no controlled substances were located. Working with Hinckley and Bosworth Council, the premises was issued with a closure order. This followed concerns raised by our community. Warrants are gained by collecting evidence that illegal activity is occurring. You can help with this process by reporting suspicious behaviour and keeping a diary of incidents, so a case can be built for action to be taken.

Graffiti has appeared in several locations around Burbage. We have completed some door to door investigations and are trying to identify those involved. If you have any information please get in touch. The graffiti has appeared by the train station, Bridge road chip shop, electrical box, Tilton Road Park, Hinckley Road Park and the outdoor gym area off Brookside. We have been working with the Parish Council and HBBC to remove the graffiti, or have contacted the owners of the property to make them aware so they can remove it. Removing graffiti is a costly job to not only local councils but also local businesses. Please contact us if you have any information as to who is involved, quoting Crime reference number 20*294623.

We have received a report that overnight on 15th June a resident’s vehicle was accessed. There was no sign of damage to the vehicle and it is believed nothing was taken (untidy search). This occurred on The Ridgeway. Please continue to be mindful of what you leave in your vehicle and also check it is locked. Try and leave your vehicle in a well-lit location and under CCTV if you have any. Remember not to leave anything in your vehicle. The incident happened between 00:00-13:00. We have spoken to local residents but if you noticed anything suspicious in this area, please get in touch. Crime reference number 20*303579.

This week I have been addressing concerns raised by residents regarding several parties at addresses in Burbage. We have been working with the Landlords of these properties who have been very supportive to ensure these issues stop and that the COVID-19 guidelines are followed, and any Anti-social behaviour stops. Visits have been made and residents have been warned about their behaviour.
