Important Livestock

Information sent on behalf of Leicestershire Police

Hello All - NR30 Rural South Beat.

Over the last few weeks we have received reports of dogs worrying/injuring livestock.
Can we remind dog owners that whilst appreciating the beautiful British countryside with their dog is a very enjoyable pastime, they must be very cautious and keep their dogs on leads and under close control to ensure they do not worry or injure livestock?

Below as some top tips to keep all safe:
1. Keep your dog under control at all times.
2. Your dog should be on a lead when around livestock.
3. Take care during lambing/calving season to minimize the risk of disturbing farm animals.
4. Make sure your home and garden are secure so dogs can’t get out and worry livestock.
5. Leave all gates as you find them.

Thank you. PCSO 6171 Tracey Biggs
