Information sent on behalf of Leicestershire Police

Hello, Hope you are all keeping well. Here are a few updates as to what has been happening in Burbage this week.

We have had a theft of a catalytic converter from Coventry road on the 26th May into the 27th (from 1400-0800), If you have any information please get in touch. As stated a couple of weeks ago, PLEASE be extra vigilant if you have a vehicle such as a Honda Jazz, Toyota Prius, Toyota Auris or Lexus RX.

Whilst completing patrols this week, we have recovered a vehicle from the Hinckley road area and in a separate incident, a male was stopped and dealt with in the early hours of the morning following a stop check near Sapcote Road.

I have spoken with a local resident around concerns of Cyclists riding on footpaths around the junction of Brookside and Elm Tree Drive. If you are a Cyclist or know anyone that uses this route, please consider the dangers of cycling on the footpath at speed around this junction as driver visibility may be obscured.

We have received reports of suspicious persons/vehicles around the areas of Wyvern Close, Windsor Street, Cardinal Drive and Woodstock Close. Please continue to report any suspicious behaviour so that we can attend and potentially disrupt any criminal activity.

We have received a few reports of Anti-social Behaviour on our local parks. This includes Britannia fields, Tilton road and Hinckley Road Park. These reports include youths with Nitrous Oxide canisters, groups having BBQ’s and dog walkers not controlling their pets.

It is generally younger people using Nitrous oxide canisters so if you have any friends, family or children and would like to know more, please see https://www.talktofrank.com/drug/nitrous-oxide#how-it-looks-tastes-and-smells for more information. If you see anyone using these whilst driving or in a vehicle, report immediately and try and make a note of the registration plate.

The dog complaints involve mainly incidents on Britannia fields where dogs are not on the leash and owners are not picking up waste. We can keep reminding owners to please be responsible and think of others safety.

We are continuing targeted patrols in these areas and will respond to and challenge any of this type of behaviour.

I have also spoken to a resident who reported having a voicemail left for them requesting they press OPTION 1 or they will be arrested. This is a scam. This may concern some residents and can scare elderly or vulnerable people. Please keep in contact with those close to you to ensure they have not been a victim of any scams. Please report immediately if they have.

Please see this months Newsletter (Attached) which contains a message from Inspector Maxwell.

Please feel free to SHARE, RATE, COMMENT or PRINT.

Thank you and Take care,

Darren 6035
