Information sent on behalf of Leicestershire Police

There have been a spate of cycle thefts in the area so please make sure you secure them properly and that garages/sheds are kept locked. The most recent were from Wreake Valley Academy.

Trading Standards have also reported a call from a Syston resident stating that a male is knocking on doors asking if people are well in relation to the current virus. This may well be of good intent but please still be aware of persons using distractions to commit burglaries, particularly on the elderly and vulnerable.

We also have number plates being stolen from cars and being used by criminals to commit crime. We are currently sourcing a new supply of free locking screws for number plates and I will let you know when and where you can obtain them. Any hardware store will have them if you want to act now. The most recent thefts were on Roman Way and Wilkinsons.
