Theft From Vehicles

Alert message sent 27/11/2019 09:54:00

Information sent on behalf of Leicestershire Police

Good morning,

Over the past week there has been an increase in the number of thefts from motor vehicles in the area, particularly around the 'Way Roads' of the Beat.

Vehicles have been targetted where items have been left in sight, predominantly overnight, and also where the vehicle has been left insecure / unlocked.
In relation to this a male has been arrested this week and charged with a number of offences relating to thefts from motor vehicles.

It would therefore seem an appropriate time to remind all to ensure that valuables are kept out od sight, and that vehicles are left in secure in well lit areas in order to prevent opportunities arising.
Additionally, i would like to ask you to be vigilant during the daylight hours where persons have been seen recently to be jacking up vehicles at the side of the road in order to remove the Catalytic Convertor. If you see something like this happening, please let us know by calling either 101 or 999 as you feel appropriate. Don't not put yourself into any potential conflict. You are our eyes and ears, and any information you can provide is always gratefully received.

As always please let me know any areas of concern that you have.

Regards
