Vehicle Crime

Alert message sent 02/10/2019 15:23:00

Information sent on behalf of Leicestershire Police

Good afternoon,

I thought it might be useful to update you with a noticed increase in the number of vehicles that have been broken into during the past week.
In the majority of cases, and I am only talking about five vehicles across the beat, entry has been forced and valuables that have been on view have been taken.
Please can I  encourage all residents across the Stoneygate area to ensure that all valuables are removed from vehicles overnight, and with the nights drawing in earlier and earlier, that you consider parking vehicles in well lit areas.
The team will be out and about, along with other officers from the Force targetting areas across the East Leicester area.
Please remain vigilant and do not give criminals the opportunity to take your belongings.
If you see anything out of the ordinary, or something that just doesn't look right, then let us know.
If it is an emergency - dial 999
For non-emergency situations - dial 101
Crime and incidents can also be reported online using http://www.leics.police.uk/report-online

Many thanks

Pete Colgate
