Update for Thurncourt

Alert message sent 13/08/2019 18:04:00

Information sent on behalf of Leicestershire Police

Dear All
I thought that I would take this opportunity to send you a brief email about what has been happening on the Thurncourt ward.
There have been a slight increase in theft of motor vehicles where the culprits are targeting high performance vehicle using a device to “steal the signal” from the key which is in the house and then steal the car, leaving the owner confused. I have secured signal blockers from the city council and my officers will be out shortly delivering these.
In the last few weeks there has been numerous theft from motor vehicles where power tools are being targeted. Please keep items out of sight to prevent any opportunists breaking in. There has also been some catalytic converters and number plate thefts. The catalytic converters are normally taken to the scrap yard for cash and the number plates are put on similar vehicles and used in crime, therefore making it difficult to trace them. Please spread the word and ensure people are vigilant and reporting any suspicious behaviour to the police.
Thank you.
